b An account is given of the importation and release in Australia of the hymenopterous parasites Aphidius sonchi Marshall and Praon volucre (Haliday) (Ichneumonoidea: Aphidiidae) as biological control agents of the sowthistle aphid, Hyperomyzus lactucae (L.), the vector of lettuce necrotic yellows virus, a serious disease of lettuce in Australia and New Zealand. The establishment of A. sonchi is documented.
