Four species of Ophionyssus have been taken from Australian lizards and snakes. New host‐records are given for O. scincorum Domrow et al. : Hemiergis decresiensis (Cuvier) (Scincidae) (South Australia); and for O. natricis (Gervais): Lacerta viridis (Laurenti) (Lacertidae), and Acanthophis antarcticus (Shaw and Nodder) and Pseudechis porphyriacus (Shaw) (Elapidae) (eastern Australia). O. ehmanni sp. n. is figured and described from Egernia striolata (Peters) (Scincidae) (South Australia). Neoliponyssus arnhemlandensis Womersley from Carlia fusca (Duméril and Bibron) (Scincidae) (Northern Territory) is restudied and newly combined with Ophionyssus.
