The adults and fifth instar nymphs of Cecidopsylla putealis and C. paterae spp. n. are described. The nymphs of both species induce the formation of pit galls in the leaves of their host trees, 1 species on Banksia marginata Cavanilles (Proteaceae) in South Australia, and 1 on Geijera parviflora Lindley in Mitchell (Rutaceae) in the eastern states. This is the first record of the occurrence of Cecidopsylla in Australia.
