Acanthocrompus grandis , described from 1 female from Kuranda, is now recorded from additional localities in north Queensland and from Sulawesi (Indonesia). Ranges of measurements are given for both sexes, and the male genitalia are described, figured and compared with those of other Ischnorhynchinae. Differences from A. incrassatus (Slater), from Sumatra (Indonesia), are listed. Specimens of Acanthocrompus Scudder from Sarawak (East Malaysia) and Peninsular Malaysia are tentatively placed as a geographic race or races of A. grandis , but no formal subspecific names are proposed. The genus Acanthocrompus is redescribed.
