In two enclosures near Adelaide. South Australia, the reptile tick, Aponomma hydrosauri , was reared on the lizard Trachydosaurus rugosits. Ticks went through one and three complete life cycles in 18 and 26 months, respectively. Feeding activity continued six months of the year but activity stopped during the cooler months of April to September.
