Exostethus brunneus gen. et sp. n. (tribe Xylonychini) is described and a new key to the six genera of Xylonychini is provided. The following new synonymies are established: Chariochilus Brenske, 1898 = Lepidostethaspis Arrow, 1924 Chariochilus costipennis Moser, 1908 = Lepidostethaspis squamosus (Lea, 1919). Antitrogus setifrons sp. n. (tribe Melolonthini) is described.
