Nine species of Paropsis , defoliators of eucalypts, occur in Tasmania. These species are indicated by a code; seven of them are identifiable from the literature, viz P. tasmanica Baly, P. rubidipes Blackburn, P. dilatata Erichson, P. incarnata Erichson, P. porosa Erichson, P. aegrota Boisduval and P. charybdis Stäl. The first five of these seven were originally described from Tasmanian material. A key to adults is given, and adults, larvae and eggs are described and figured. Records of Eucalyptus species on which each species of Paropsis was found at each collecting locality are given.
