Readily available electronic components are used in a simple modification of an inexpensive pocket calculator. The instrument counts up to 10 7 events at a rate of up to 60 events per second. The key‐board and display make for convenient data handling and the counter is simply adapted for a wide range of purposes. Flight parameters of a sheep blowfly obtained with the counter exemplify the functioning of the instrument.
