Heliococcus summervillei sp. n. is a mealybug that has caused considerable damage to pastures of Paspalum in Queensland and has been collected on sugar‐cane in Pakistan. This is the first record of the genus Heliococcus from Australia and Pakistan. Dactylopius glacialis Newstead, a related species infesting grass in Italy, is redescribed and transferred to Heliococcus.
