A review of the Australian genus Scaphidium , including a key and illustrations, is given. S. monteithi sp. n. and trimaculatum sp.n. are described from Queensland. S. bimaculatum, australe, coronatum and thoracicum are relegated to synonymy. S. notatum is transferred from Scaphidiolum Achard. Lectotypes are designated for bimaculatum, distinctum, australe and thoracicum .
