
THE GENUS VERCAMMENIA AUDY AND NADCHATRAM (ACARI: TROMBICULIDAE)

The trombiculine larvae possessing hamate chelicerae, elongate tarsalae I, and filamentous sensillae, and living as endodermal parasites of frogs, are assigned to an expanded Vercammenia . They are V. hendricksoni Audy and Nadchatram from Rana and Megophrys (Ranidae and Pelobatidae, Malaya); V. gloriosa sp.n. from Taudactylus (Leptodactylidae, Queensland); and V. yorkei (Sambon) comb. n. from Hyla (Hylidae, Brazil).
