This paper describes Calopsocus guttatus sp. n. from Queensland and discusses the systematic position of the family, the conclusion being that the Calopsocidae are closely related to the Pseudocaeciliidae and not to the Caeciliidae as indicated in the currently accepted classification. The genus Calopsocus Hagen has been known from three species; the fourth, C. guttatus , is the first from Australia.
