The Australian rodents (all Muridae) are parasitized by thirteen species of Laelaps , including L. albycia sp. n. from Gyomys fumeus in Victoria. A key is provided for these species, which are newly assigned to three species‐groups based on morphological characters and correlated with host preferences.
