Seven of the twenty‐three recorded Australian species of Anisops are redescribed and information given on distribution outside Australia. Species dealt with are A. hackeri Brooks, A. paracrinita Brooks, A. elstoni Brooks, A. tahitiensis Lundblad, A. hyperion Kirkaldy, A. deanei Brooks, and A. calcaratus Hale. The new species A. paraexigera is described and the closely related A. exigera Horvath from New Guinea, redescribed.
