Intlmal thickening of the intra‐organ arteries of the major organs have been examined In 253 autopsy cases and, the microscopical findings have been analyzed according to smoking habits. It was found that especially the small arteries of the lung present a significantly higher degree of fibrous intlmal thickening in cigarette smokers.
