The Initial changes of leukemia were examined in rats which were fed 2,7‐diacetylaminofluorene. The appearance of erythroblasts in the peripheral blood was employed as an index of the initial stage of leukemia. Histological examination of the bone marrows revealed one or two nodular foci of leukemic cells at the early stage of the appearance of erythroblasts. The leukemia in rats which were fed 2,7‐diacetylaminofluorene was considered to begin as one or two nodular foci in the bone marrow.
