A case of generalized cytomegalic inclusion disease in an adult demonstrating clinical features of cytomegalovirus mononucleosis was presented. This condition was proceeded by serious involvement of systemic lymph nodes. Twenty‐four cases of adult cytomegalic inclusion disease in Japan were analyzed, and the type of involvement, sexual incidence, site of involvement and predisposing conditions were discussed.
