A case of a 71‐year‐old woman with a fibrous mass in each subscapular region is reported herein. The mass is identical with the tumors previously reported as elastofibroma dorsi, both clinically and histologically. The tumor is characterized by its subscapular location in elderly persons and by the presence of numerous elastic fibers and globules within dense collagenous tissue. It is hoped that this disease entity becomes more familiar among pathologists and surgeons, although its nature and histogenesis are still uncertain. ACTA PATH. JAP. 18 : 239–244, 1968.
