Renal arteriosclerosis was studied with a concept based on a sudden elevation of the hemodynamic pressure due to a pressure imbalance occurring between the glomerular and pre‐glomerular circulation. Congenital pre‐sclerosis of the renal arteries and ‘physiological arteriosclerosis’ in various age groups were described. Pathological arteriosclerotic forms seen in arteriosclerotic diseases of the brain and the heart and hypertension were compared with those in the controls. ‘Dysorie’ changes observed in the malignant phase of chronic glomerulo‐nephritis and malignant nephrosclerosis were presented and discussed. In order to clarify the most characteristic feature of renal circulatory disiurbance, some other renal diseases were demonstrated, and the relation between renal circulatory disorder and arteriolar damages was discussed.
