Histologic features characteristic for vorious diffuse and localized liver diseases were outlined and the diagnostic criteria for those lesions were described. A case, in which development of early cirrhosis from a stage of acute hepatitis was followed, was briefly described and histologically illustrated. Correlation of clinical and histological diagnosis was tabulated, frequency of diagnostic accordance was calculated and difficulty of diagnosis of chronic hepatitis was emphasized.
