Histological changes in the heart, especially on the formation of Aschoff body by prolonged sensitization with egg‐white for over one year were studied using 30 rabbits. Localized myolysis and acute angitis of various degrees were observed in the earlier period of the experiment. Localized or diffuse thickening of the media of coronary arteries was recognized in the later period. Aschoff bodies were demonstrated in 8 cases, taking place in the perivascular region of the myocardium, and they showed a more typical form in the later period as a result of altered immune response than these in the earlier period which is characterized by an allergic‐hyperergic condition.
