Summary 1. Three cases of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura associated with malignancies, leukemia in one case and gastric carcinoma in two cases are reported. 2. Using the fluorescent antibody method, it is concluded that the thrombi of arterioles and capillaries in these cases are composed of platelets and fibrin (or fibrinogen). 3. The pathogenic mechanism of thrombotic microangiopathy associated with malignancies is discussed.
