“A n A utopsy C ase of S o‐called R hinitis N ecroticans P rogressiva ”

Summary 1. An autopsy of a 49 years old woman was carried out, showing a wide spread necrosis in the oral and upper respiratory tract. The clinical diagnosis was so‐called “rhinitis necroticans progressiva”. 2. Histological appearance of the necrotic mass and the surgical material revealed neoplastic features of undifferentiated reticulosarcoma. 3. By bacteria cultivation of the necrotic mass, Candida albicans was detected, but these were not found in the tissue. 4. Statistical observations on this disease were discussed from various view points.
