Summary An 18‐year‐old female with cryptococcal meningitis under the treatment with amphotericin B developed hypokalemia and generalized weakness with marked elevation of serum creatine phosphokinase activity. From clinical and laboratory studies in this case a hypokalemic myopathy rather than a transint functional paralysis has been considered.
