Summary 1. The emotional conditions of atypical psychosis were studied psychophysio‐logically by means of GSR. 2. The materials were 7 cases of atypical schizophrenia and 10 cases of atypical psychosis. The control consisted of 26 normal subjects and 18 cases of typical schizophrenia. 3. Some differences in modes of appearance of GSRs among typical or atypical schizophrenia and phasic atypical psychosis were observed. Considerations were made about them. 4. In the phasic atypical psychotic group, there were many cases of conspicuous emotional instability expressed by GSRs. 5. By longitudinal observation of atypical psychosis it was noticed in certain cases that GSR considerably improved against only small improvement of clinical symptoms, though we could not follow the process in sufficient exactness. 6. Owing to the scarcity of materials, we cannot lead to any definite conclusion at this stage of our research.
