Summary While it has been long assumed that there should actually be more cases of sleep paralysis than those reported in Americo, this is the first report in Japan until this date. Of three opinions concerning the genuine nosological form we have adopted that of Schneck treating the case chiefly psychoanalytically. It seems that we have fairly well succeeded in segregating homosexual conflict factor existent; t hereby it was clearly brought out that the ambivalence attitude against the factor played an important role in the symptom formation of the disease.
