Summary Three behavior patterns were found in the shifting period from one conditioned behavior to the other. The possibility of the development of these patterns was discussed from the standpoint of behavior‐latency and EEG. It was concluded that both inhibitions of the old behavior‐tendency and the establishment of new behavior‐tendency are required for the appearance of the actual new behavior, and that the sites where the conditioned inhibition occurs decides the behavior patterns in the shifting period.
