This report concerns clinicopathologic's investigations of atypic's cases of senile dementia of 'Szheimer type (SDAT). Most cases presented are patients with severe neuron's loss in the medi's and lower portions of the tempor's lobe. In addition, we 'sso describe one case who had significant loss of neurons and numerous neurofibrillary tangles, but no senile plaques, and another patient with a peculiar plaque‐like angiopathy. The ev'suation of these cases reve'sed that these unusu's histopathologic's features may underlie their clinic's manifestations. Speci's emphasis is given to the notion that SDAT is a heterogeneous condition that may include various types of senile dementia.
