Coy, J. F., Longmore, E. A., Mair, C. H. and Ratkowsky, D. A. (1976).Aust. paediat. J. , 12, 171–175. Tasmanian infant feeding survey, 1974. Information on infant feeding practices were collected during a one‐month period in 1974 throughout Tasmania. Child health sisters interviewed 394 mothers of 3 months old babies born between March 31 and April 27, 1974. The results are compared with similar surveys conducted in 1952, 1964 and 1969, and indicate that the downward trend in the incidence of breast feeding in the previous decades has been halted. There is a continuing decline in the use of cow's milk as an artificial feed.
