SYNOPSIS Hepatoblastomas have no specific symptoms and present with hepatomegaly. The only hope of cure is complete surgical resection of the tumour and this may not be possible by the time of diagnosis. 3 cases are presented to illustrate the problems of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Early diagnosis will only be possible by examination of the abdomen of every infant, seen by a doctor, no matter what the problem, and improvement in the cure rates will only be possible by a radical surgical approach to the treatment of this tumour.
