SYNOPSIS A child admitted to hospital with a fractured skull had a normal EEG. While in hospital, he developed the clinical and electroencephalographic features of hypsarrhythmia. Treatment with corticotrophin controlled the seizures, the EEG reverted to normal, and the child's subsequent mental and motor development has been satisfactory.
