SYNOPSIS During an illness of 3 years duration, a 13 year old boy had recurrent episodes of painful swelling of the clavicles associated with marked periosteal new bone formation. These episodes were accompanied by mild fever and constitutional upset. This disorder does not appear to correspond to any known syndrome. The case history is presented and possible causes are discussed.
