SYNOPSIS 34 patients with intractable epilepsy, mainly of the minor motor variety and not responding to adequate drug therapy, have been given a trial ketogenic diet. 10 patients were very much improved and 4 moderately improved. There were no clear cut differences between those patients having a favourable and those having a poor response, although onset of seizures in early infancy was more common in the group with a poor response.
