SYNOPSIS The level of phenylalanine in the serum is highest in the first 2 years of life, i.e. a mean of 42.05 mgm/100ml. and thereafter the mean level is about 27.72 mgm/100 ml. This is related to a greater requirement of phenylalanine during the period of maximum growth.
