SYNOPSIS A 2 year old female infant was admitted with a short history of vomiting yellow‐brown material and passing yellow urine. Acute poisoning with Pyridium was suspected on clinical grounds and later demonstrated chemically. She developed methaemoglobinaemia which responded well to methylene blue intravenously and saline enemata. She also had evidence of haemolysis and transient renal toxicity, but she made a complete recovery.
