SYNOPSIS Tests used in the investigation of Ca metabolism are discussed and the techniques and precautions described in some detail. A brief account is given of the conditions studied and of how these tests have proved useful in diagnosis and management. Particular reference is made to the use of blood and urine levels, Ca absorption studies, intravenous infusion of Ca and of bone biopsy.
