The following paper outlines the roles and functions of a multidisciplinary team working on a controlled experiment to assess the feasibility of introducing a permanent crisis intervention team to a regional mental health service. Rationale for forming the team, and some results of the research are included. The research has shown similar results to those found in comparable experiments overseas.
