The cerebral vascular accident patient forms a significant diagnostic group treated by occupational therapists. A literature review has been undertaken to look clearly at the neuromuscular assessment of a hemiplegic patient. The paper discusses why neuromuscular assessments are necessary, what needs to be assessed and finally the relevance of such assessments.
