The testing scale developed in this research was designed to measure not only the level of patient independence but also those deficits which cause limitations in activities. Analysis of Variance was performed on observer ratings of ten judges who used the scale to assess a C.V.A. patient recorded on a video, and the activity researched showed an interjudged reliability of +.87. This developed scale has considerable practical value in providing a reliable data base of information to be used for future follow‐up of rehabilitation gains.
