ABSTRACT: This paper is designed primarily to remind Occupational Therapists of the value and potential usefulness of Relaxation Therapy. The article is not written as an “in depth” scientific paper, but rather as an initial stimulator which the authors hope will initiate further submissions and research articles from other pens. The paper deals with basic Relaxation Therapy techniques and is followed by one method as an example. Music may or may not be used. Some emphasis is placed on the fact that flexibility in methods is desirable and it should be kept in mind that people probably relax in different ways so individual differences are important.
