This study reports the experiences of a group of people with acquired brain injury and their carers when assessing services in rural Victoria, Australia. There was a low level of professional awareness of acquired brain injury, which reduced access to information and produced poor co‐ordination and communication between and within services. The findings have specific implications for rural service providers, in particular general practitioners.
