ABSTRACT The treatment of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus is a therapeutic challenge. Frequently, patients are resistant to or intolerant towards single selected immunosuppressants. In combination, lower doses of methotrexate and cyclosporin A might be used to minimize toxicity. This is the first report of a successful combination of these drugs in two patients suffering from subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus refractory to standard treatment.
