SUMMARY The recent application of monoclonal antibody stains to Mohs micrographic surgery may lead to increased accuracy in the excision of certain difficult tumours. Immunohistoehemical techniques may also increase the range of tumours regularly treated by Mohs surgery. The concept is very much in its infancy, and controlled trials with long term follow‐up are required before the real worth of the process can be evaluated.
