SUMMARY A case is reported of a 55‐year‐old man of Greek origin who was employed by a bolt manufacturer. During the course of his work the patient was constantly in contact with cutting oil. He developed keratosis pilaris on the oil‐soaked areas. This is the first report of keratosis pilaris occurring as a reaction to contact with cutting oil in which the deliberate application of the oil reproduced the reaction clinically and histologically.
