S ummary Oral corticosteroid therapy has been reported to produce a rapid recovery in trichophyton kerion. In this paper three children are described with kerion due to Microsporum canis. The inflammatory changes responded dramatically to oral corticosteroid therapy with rapid healing of the kerions. The immunological basis for kerion formation and the response to corticosteroid therapy is discussed.
