SUMMARY The parents of children with atopic dermatitis often require considerable encouragement and support to help them cope with this distressing and potentially disabling condition. Over a period of two months a time limited support group was established for parents of children with eczema at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in response to a perceived need for parental support, self help and the alleviation of feelings of isolation and not coping.
