SUMMARY Autopsy studies have long shown a propensity for the extracutaneous dissemination in cutaneous T cell disease. More thorough staging procedures are now identifying extra‐ctaneous disease even in patients with apparently limited disease. The use of standardized and accurate staging procedures should help formalate meaningful therapeutic protocols.
