Contents Two years of observations on Baoule and Zebu cows under adequate management conditions, show that uterine involution usually ends after 30 days in both breeds; it is shorter in younger animals. Suckled Baoules have a long post partum anoestrus (57 days), which is comparable to reported behavior of Bos taurus taurus in the temperate zones. In suckled Zebus post partum resumption of cyclicity seems to be very long.
