Summary. The unusual case of an oesophagitis caused by Candida kefyr in a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx is reported. The further implementation of C. kefyr in the production of milk products is discussed. Zusammenfassung. Es wird über den außerge‐wöhnlichen Fall einer Oesophagus‐Mykose bei Plattenepithelcarcinom des Oropharynx berichtet. Als Erreger wurde Candida kefyr endoskopisch, im Nativpräparat sowie in Reinkultur nachgewiesen. Es wird diskutiert, ob C. kefyr bei der Herstellung von Milchprodukten weiterhin Verwendung finden dauf.
