Summary: The authors analysed the results of the mycological examinations in the years 1980 to 1984. They found the most often diagnosed mycosis in both sex groups was tinea capitis followed by tinea cruris in males and tinea corporis in females. The authors discuss the difference in the number of the various clinical forms and demonstrated that the zoophilic dermatophyte Microsporum canis is the most often isolated fungus in both sex groups. The second common fungus was Epidermophyton floccosum in males and Trichophyton violaceum in females.
